At Reach for the Stars, we place great importance on the health and wellbeing of your child, as we understand that all aspects of your child’s growth and development is important for learning and for their future. In collaboration with a team of specialised healthcare professionals, health screens in basic health and developmental areas including hearing, vision, coordination, speech, cognitive development and social and emotional skills are implemented as early as possible. This allows us to identify health, developmental and/or other factors that may interfere with a child’s learning. Through this premium service, expert suggestions and recommendations are given to ensure your child reaches their full potential.

Good vision is key to a child’s physical development and overall wellbeing, making it vital to ensure that each child has the visual skills to perform according to their abilities. Here at Reach for the Stars we conduct vision testing for children aged 2 and 4 years old.

In the first few years of life, hearing is a critical part of a child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development and if hearing difficulties are not detected it may impact the development of language and speech. For this reason we screen our preschoolers (3-5 years).

The development of the child’s language is essential to their growth. Our team of speech pathologists ensure that the children have achieved age related sounds and are developing their understanding and use of language. Assessments commence at the age of 2 years old.

Occupational therapy

A child’s occupation is to play and learn. Our occupational therapists help our children with independence and improve their capacity to play and learn through skills such as hand skills (e.g. drawing, writing) and self-help skills (e.g. feeding, dressing). By doing this we aim at helping them perform at their best.
